There’s no sound quite like the beautiful and haunting voice of “The Professor”, Harrison Stafford. From the moment we first recorded the instrumentals with the flowing piano and the intermittent jungle breaks, we knew that we had to get Harrison in on this.

The Incense Album

Starting with a humble warm up jam session, this song really surprised us. The lyric writing process was particularly interesting as we started with “I want you to be satisfied. I want you to be happy with you.” After remixing the song, I wrote a bunch of lyrics that were really more from the perspective of the second person and was then faced with making a bridge back to the first person. “That’s when I turn to the people who’ve earned the right to offer up an insight, and I might just sing along to their loving song…” The protagonist conjures the perspective of his supporters to wield the force of love.
